About Me
Living in Inver Grove Heights for over 35 years, I've enjoyed the suburban and rural lifestyle that our community offers. I've been involved in community service activities for many years, including serving on the Planning Commission, Energy Action Team, Pavement Management Taskforce, the Housing Committee, and am now currently active as a member of the City Council.
What leisure time I have, I spend mostly outdoors and with my family, whether in the vegetable garden, walking along the Mississippi River, or ice skating and sledding in the winter - it's nature and family that renews my energy. When I'm not reading about data centers, land use issues, current business trends in suburban areas, smart housing options for our community and other hot topics as an inquisitive city council member, I try to carve out time to enjoy classic mystery stories. I also enjoy horseback riding and traveling occasionally to see a bit of the world’s natural landscapes outside of Minnesota. I enjoy meeting people, and learning about other people’s cultures and lifestyles. Fortunately, most of my family live in the Twin Cities area so I'm able to see them often.
My professional career has focused on developing and implementing successful community-based urban economic and environmental programs in St. Paul, coordinating public sector energy efficiency and clean energy projects across a variety of departments in Ramsey County and enhancing social responsibility protocols and creating unique philanthropy programs for an international corporation.
