About Me
I have enjoyed living in Inver Grove Heights for 35 years. During that time I’ve talked with residents, city leaders, staff, educators, and business people who want the city to be financially stable, meet the needs of residents and businesses, and be a city that we are proud to live in. I served on the Planning Commission Energy Action Team, Pavement Management Taskforce, and Housing Committee.
When I’m not engaged in community activities, I enjoy being outdoors, whether I’m riding my bicycle, walking along the Mississippi River, or hiking in a state or national park. I also enjoy tending the vegetable garden and growing food for family and friends. When I have the opportunity, I enjoy traveling to places near and far - meeting new people and seeing other parts of Minnesota and other areas of the world. Although I love horseback riding and canoeing, I haven’t gotten out to do these things recently; perhaps during my retirement years…
Highlights of Community and Professional Accomplishments
- Inver Grove Heights City Council: I will do my best to serve our community in a transparent and forward-thinking manner. I appreciate your trust in me and will work to build on that trust.
- Pavement Management Taskforce: Worked with members on recommendations for Council to improve the condition of city streets equitably and cost-effectively
- Energy Action Team: Contributed to the city’s first Energy Action Plan that sets goals and strategies to save energy and money throughout the community
- Housing Committee: Presented Council with recommendations for “Granny Flats” and Rental Licensing Ordinances; both adopted by the Council
- Professionally I have an award-winning track record as an innovative planner in corporate, non-profit, and government settings focused on environment and economic development
- I have managed multi-million-dollar budgets that contributed to job creation in urban and rural areas
